Bon, on ne peut pas se plaindre du tirage si on veut aller loin. Bien sûr que ce n'est pas fait d'avance, mais c'est plus qu'abordable. Contrairement au match contre le Werder, on partira favori.

Mais bon, le PSV a un plus joli palmarès que l'OM quand même...

depuis le tirage, la cote de la Juve et de Lyon sont en baisse, et celles de Liverpool, Inter et du Bayern en hausse.

Hugo, la Juve est une tres tres grosse equipe en effet. Typiquement italienne avec une defense tres forte et de tres grosses individualites devant. Franchement, je ne vois pas comment Liverpool va s'en sortir.

I think Milan will once again just squeeze out inter on the smallest of margins. Chelsea can probably overcome Bayern, Juventus will be too strong for Liverpool and Lyon will eliminate PSV, however not quite as convincing as against Werder Breman.

First impressions:

Liverpool-Juventus: great match, probably most amusing to watch. Juventus has second leg at home advantage, but I think Liverpool will win

Milan-Inter: Italian match, like has been before a 0-0 and 1-0 meeting, Milan will win

Lyon-PSV: As a PSV fan I would say PSV has a chance, but Lyon have moer chance(65-35)

Chelsea-Bayern: Chelsea is favorite, but I think they will have trouble with Bayern.

Semi: Chelsea-Liverpool: Will the Reds keep Chelsea from the final? Let's hope so!(Unless Robben scores the deciding goal(s))

Liverpool-Juventus - Juventus should advance, too strong for Liverpool who've done well to get this far

PSV-Lyon - Lyon CL matches opposition often resemble car crashes this season, as 5-0, 7-2 and 2-0. PSV surprised me against Monaco, but Lyon just have a sort of a swagger about them, as if last year was a learning block for this....they seem even better than last season, having cut out a lot of the mistakes (for example the defensive naivity that nearly cost them against Celtic), and should go one step closer this year.

AC-Inter - call me mad, but I think Inter can do it. Something about avenging the ending of the undefeated run. Just Inter have had something about them all season which has shouted "CL winners" to me.

Chelsea-Bayern. Waht no Barca? Forza Bayern then!

Bayern-Juventus - Hmm, I think Juventus will have too much for Bayern again, though revenge for the earlier losses might play a factor.

Lyon-Inter - Hmm, Lyon. Why not? I know I'm going back on myself...but hey, I cant help it, I never think properly.

Lyon - PSV: Lyon will win by more than one goal on the first hand. PSV might score. PSV will go for an all-out assault on Lyon, only to be defeated by Lyon's superior midfield. They might draw, though. Lyon will go through.

Chelsea - Bayern: Both teams will play a calculist match, trying to explore each other's weaknesses (don't expect a brilliant match). Chelsea will probably win the first hand by a goal (Bayern will probably score). On the 2nd hand, Again a calculist game, but with Bayern more attacking. It can go either way, and even if thei're not amazing matches, they will be exciting. I think Chelsea will go through, though.

Semis

Chelsea - Juventus: Boring two matches!  Probably more because of Juventus than Chelsea, but these English know better than going all out on the italians. So... in the end I hope Chelsea goes through... but I'm not sure. Really, 50-50 chances.

Milan - Lyon: Entertaining first match, with Lyon a bit more reserved than usual trying to put Milan away from their goal. Milan will eventually score, but so will Lyon. 2nd hand: If Lyon has the upper hand, Milan will attack until they eventually score. Will Lyon be able to do the same? Very tight, but Milan are favorites (60-40).

Final: I DO HOPE IT'S NOT juventus - milan AGAIN!!!!

Let's hope for a Chelsea - Lyon, and let's hope that attacking football (the way it should be played) wins and a French teams lifts their 2nd or 3rd (I never know who actually won the Marseille - Milan final) Euro cup. Chelsea winning wouldn't make too sad, especially if they play Milan in the final. If Milan and Juve play the final, expect penalties after a 0-0 again. Hope Milan wins. I kind of hate Juve a lot!

Since I consider Lyon a top team and somewhat underestimated compared to the more flashy teams, I set out to find out last time a French team was in CL-final. Well, I didn't have to search for too long. Short-time memory losses are relatively common at my age

I think Lyon is underestimated too and wins against PSV and goes on to defeat Milan. But everything works for Milan-Juve again.

a noter qu'en coupe UEFA les 8 quarts de finalistes (quellle que soit l'issue de Villarel-Steaua) sont issus de 8 pays differents. Ca doit faire longtemps que ce n'est pas arrive.

En CL c'est vrai les PSV a marqué peu de buts.

Par contre en championnat (contre des équipes faibles je sais bien):

61 points en 24 journées ;

19 succès,

4 nuls

1 défaite

65 buts marqués et 13 encaissés.

Ils devancent AZ'67 Alkmaar de 4 points et l'Ajax Amsterdam de 8 unités.

Je parie ma chemise que la bayern va taper Chelsea.

Le bayern, en 1/4, c'est pas des tocrads..et je pense que du coté de chelsea, on se croit déjà avec un joli tirage.

Ils vont se faire calmer recta par le bayern, qui je pense a une bonne chance de remporter la compétition cette année.

Liverpool-Juve, là selon moi pas de suspense, la juve va se farcir tranquilou les britons, 1-0 0-1.

Milan-Inter : Comme l'a fort justement souligné SM, l'Inter dans le cadre d'un derby et de son contexte particulier a une bonne chance de taper le milan...

mais c'est du 50-50.

Lyon-PSV: Lyon, sur sa lancée. Il y a deux ans j'aurais dit mauvais tirage, mais cette année, Lyon dégage une telle assurance, une telle sérénité et une telle plication en ligue des champions qu'ils ont les taper sans soucis.

A noter que notre milieu de terrain a marqué les esprits au point qu'on oublie que Van Bommel et Cocu sont les "grands noms" du PSV.

Je sais pas pourquoi, mais je le sens pas ce tirage. Ca risque d'être assez difficile de passer AMHA, cette équipe du PSV me fait penser à celle de Porto l'an dernier, et au niveau physique ils m'ont impressioné face à l'ASM. Enfin, on verra bien comment ca va se passer...

Sinon, vous avez remarqué l'affiche Liverpool-Juve, deux équipes qui ne s'étaient plus rencontrées depuis 20 ans et le Heysel?

Tout à fait Ouiz, on commence déjà à "calmer" les esprits dans un camp comme dans l'autre, il y aura certainement une celebration.

Pour en revenir à l'ol, ce qui m'embête le plus dans ce tirage, c'est qu'on a jamais été aussi prêt d'une demi à SanSiro, rêve de gosse, et que ca ferait vraiment mais alors vraiment chier de se faire sortir en sachant ça !

The main topic at the customary pre-match press briefing at the PSV De Herdgang training ground was not surprisingly Olympique Lyonnais, the next opponent of PSV in the Champions League quarter finals. Hiddink will go to France to see Lyon in action on Saturday night.

Hiddink watched Lyon on a previous occasion, when they met AS Monaco a few weeks ago. "They are a well-organized team that is hard to combat. They are a well-balanced side; when opportunity knocks, they take advantage. They are capable of killing off games just like that. They may not be the most appealing of opponents, but we are proud that we are still in the tournament at this stage. Lyon are dangerous outsiders in this tournament. They are creative and their quality players Juninho and Wiltord are lethal. A really big game might have given us a greater reputation and more glory, but I feel that my players will go for it again."

Olympique Lyonnais will play a league game, away against Strasbourg on Saturday night. Guus Hiddink will watch that game and make the return trip to Amsterdam straight after the game.

PSV will face Ajax in the Amsterdam ArenA on Sunday afternoon. "It's bound to be a great clash. I expect Ajax to be sharper and fresher than they were in the previous weeks."

Hiddink will take off for the Chinese capital of Beijing on Monday in order to launch the official PSV Chinese website in China. He will return from Asia to Holland at the end of next week.
